3DS JOINS THE “Net Zero” FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The “war” is not for anyone alone.
At the end of 2021, at the Leaders in Suffering Summit of the 26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 26), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pledged that Vietnam would produce net greenhouse gas emissions, reaching zero in 2050 (Net Zero). This creates the basis for the work of building a green economy, guiding to sustainable development, in line with world trends. However, this establishes significant formulas for economic sectors particularly and the political system in general.
In current reality, Vietnam is facing many consequences for magnifying climate variables and environmental pollution. One reason does not come from the fact that our country’s economy is in the stage of development towards industrialization. Therefore, aligning with economic development and sustainable production will have to be the common goal of businesses in the future. And the Prime Minister’s commitment is the driving force for the Vietnamese business community to start taking action towards Net Zero.
3DS is “in rush” to join the “green race”
As one of the leading units in the field of 3D printing in Vietnam, 3D Smart Solutions (3DS) is not outside the trend of linking production with sustainable development. Actions to reduce environmental issues and work towards the Net Zero goal in its manufacturing sector have been methodically implemented by 3DS.
3D printing is one of the high-tech fields prioritized for development by the Vietnam Government. Therefore, global trends such as green and sustainable production in this field need to be given at top of priority. In fact, 3D printing is now quite environmentally friendly, while also significantly in reducing the amount of waste compared to traditional production. However, 3DS believes that, in order to operate the largest 3D printing factory in Vietnam, it also requires consuming a large amount of electricity. This means that the emission problem has not really been solved and it is difficult to achieve the Net Zero goal.
Therefore, at the beginning of 2024, after nearly 1 year of inaugurating the largest 3D Factory in Vietnam, 3DS deployed the installation of a solar power system. Aiming for the entire factory system, machinery, equipment… operated by this renewable energy source. This is the first stage in the sustainable development goal; accompanying the project to expand the scale and increase machinery and equipment to serve 3DS production in the future. This will be the perfect transition from production reality, for 3DS to officially join the “green race” and realize the Net Zero goal. With a system that completely uses solar power, 3DS expects 3D printing products particularly and other products and services of the Company in general; will be truly “clean” in the true sense.

“Currently, the installation of this solar battery system only accounts for about 25% of the factory’s roof area and provides enough power for the machines and equipments invested in our phase 1. In the next stages of development and expansion investment, 3DS will certainly increase the installation of solar panels and prioritize the usage of this renewable energy source in the long term.” – CEO Truong Tan Tong shared.

(Ms. Kristin Tilley – Climate Change Ambassador of the Australian Government highly appreciated 3DS’s sustainable production efforts towards the Net Zero goal)
With investment efforts from items associated with production activities such as installing solar power systems, up to basic activities such as performing waste classification at source, showed the spirit of implementing 3DS’s Net Zero commitment. These will be the first steppingstones, creating a basis for the Company to have more projects and works towards the goal of green, long-term, and sustainable development in the future. This shows that the 3DS team is clearly aware of it’ s responsibility in implementing measures to minimize negative impacts on the environment. At the same time, it affirms the Company’s leading position in the field of 3D printing in investing for sustainable development today and for the future.
